Ficus Trails protects an important portion of the Monteverde Cloud Forest Biological Corridor known as “Puente de Vida”, (Bridge of Life), an exuberant key piece of forest located in the heart of the Monteverde region that starts up in the Cloud forest and serpents its way down to the San Luis area at about 1000 meters above sea level. Some moisture is deposited high on the Pacific slope near the Continental divide in the form of mist.
This significant fact along with the topography of the place influences Ficus Trails in such a way that a remarkable diversity of flora and Fauna can be found in this natural area offering adventurous visitors an overwhelming wilderness experience.
Ficus Trails is home of many species of birds, reptiles, amphibians and mammals, not to mention the large diversity of trees, plants and fungi.
